Pegah Bahador
Bio
Pegah Bahador (b. 1998 Tehran) works across painting and image-based practices, investigating the shifting relationship between images, memory and representation. Through processes of fragmentation, erasure
and abstraction, she explores how images retain traces of events while becoming detached from their original contexts. Her work engages with themes of absence, disaster and transformation, examining the fragile boundary between what can be represented and what remains beyond representation. By reconfiguring visual forms, Bahador reflects on the ways images preserve, obscure and transform the memory of lived experiences. She holds a BA in painting from Tehran University of Art and is pursuing an MFA in Art, Theory and Practice at Northwestern University. Her work has been presented in solo and group exhibitions in Iran
and United States.
